LARGE Art DECO Oil Portrait Woman Pearl Necklace by Carl KAHLER 1920s. Here is a absolutely gorgeous , very large, vintage oil portrait of a woman with bobbed wavy hair , a black lace gown, draped with a red and black chiffon wrap. It is oils on canvas is signed in the lower right corner, Carl Kahler, who was an American listed artist. The painting itself measures 30 1/8 x 40 1/8 i. It is in Fair/Good vintage condition. Nail hole thru bottom left , chip to paint at her fingers, minor surface chip of paint at left middle, needs to be re-stretched, corners not laying perfectly flush. Please look at all pictures and read entire description to see if it meets your own standards. The painting is expertly done, and Carl Kahler specialized in animal and people portraits. There is some debate on the time of his death, most art info puts it at 1906, but other paintings have surfaced in the 1920s, such as this one. That proves he did not die in the San Francisco great fire, as believed. This painting I cannot find a date, it is very dark at the bottom where he signed it, but obviously she is 1920s, with the typical Flapper attire. So elegant with her chiffon wrap draped around her arms.. International buyers will get this OFF the stretcher and rolled in a tube style box, not a thin tu be container. This is a wonderful statement piece of artwork, very high quality. Perfect for Art Deco, Roaring 20s , and if you just love her.
