Vintage Art Deco Dark Marbled CHERRY AMBER BAKELITE Prayer Beads Necklace 56g
Vintage Art Deco Cherry Amber Bakelite Beads. This lot consists of a strand of beads that came from a large collection of both cherry amber bakelite and genuine amber all from the first quarter of the 20th century, be sure to check my other listings. This early strand of bakelite beads has been fully tested with simichrome polish. These beads have a fantastic dark cherry color and they are hand knotted on old string. There’s actually one bead (possibly two) that stands out as lighter in color than the others, and it has crazing and inclusions on the inside like amber while the others don’t, so it may be slightly different than the others or aged into it’s color differently. Take a close look at the pictures of the beads in my hands in direct sunlight, as well as over a lightbulb to see the marbled swirl insides of the beads. There is a total of 40 beads, with each bead measuring approximately 23mm in size. Total weight is 56 grams, and total length of the strand is 23.5 inches long.
