Vintage Antique Art Deco Cut Bohemian Garnet Bead Long Torsade Necklace 180 gram

I have more great jewelry for sale, so check out my other items if you’re interested. This is one of the nicest garnet necklaces I’ve had the pleasure to offer. It’s a 3 strand cut bead necklace with a top cut garnet set catch. I think at one time it was fully gilt, but now the [what I think is 800 silver or better] metal is showing through. It’s late Edwardian/ early Art Deco era. The catch is about 7/8″ by about 5/8″. The longest cut strand is a whopping 34″ long, the other 2 are about 28″ & 25. That’s a lot of garnets!!! The necklace weighs a whopping 180 grams on a digital postal scale, making it an amazing 900 carats of garnets. The beads are not exactly uniform, but measuring one , it’s about 3/16″ x 1/4″. There are some nipped edges & rubs, but as it’s almost 100 years old, it’s to be expected. It has such sparkle! It’s strung on what looks like it’s original cotton cording.
