I recently was cleaning my office and found one last Egyptian Revival necklace. Circa 1925 made in France, it has the original Made in France tag, and it has have never been worn. This beautiful necklace is made of a silver tone metal with purple glass stone at the top, a iridescent glass scarab in the center surrounded by Egyptian symbols. The pendant has the lotus flowers at the top, with what looks like a bird or snake on either side, the lotus flower represents sum, creation and rebirth. The Scarab represents the God Khepri which is for Rebirth. The Vultures represent the Goddess Nekhbet who represents the unification of Upper and Lower Egypt. And the 3 drops along the bottom represent Beautiful or Happiness. The iridescent art glass reminds me of the Tiffany Favrile glass. There is also green enamel or paint on the vultures weeks and the bottom of the drops. Beautiful detail, well made, all original and never worn. PENDANT: 2″L x 2-1/2″W = 51mm x 64mm.
