We may present, here and there, some unique items that can be described as fashion jewelry, either because they have been made by an interesting designer or are very beautiful. When we find a unique supplier with great items, we order a full collection from him/her, so we can share their jewelry’s beauty with you. Pre owned/Antique: Whenever the item is not new, the title will start with the assumed era (VINTAGE, ART DECO, and ART NOUVEAU, EDWARDIAN, VICTORIAN, GEORGIAN OR ANTIQUE) or if we are not sure about the assumed era or we think that it might be newer, our first word in the title will be ESTATE. We try to describe everything very carefully, and since items are not new there may be some wear and imperfections. Most worthwhile collectibles have experienced normal & gentle use over the years. Therefore, photographs often are the greatest testament to actual condition. When fine jewelry items are not marked for metal content (karat), metals are tested. When they are marked, we usually don’t test them but try to include a photograph of that mark. We are a smoke free house and we have a dog, but we cannot guarantee that these were the conditions prior to their “landing” in our house. Jewelry is gently cleaned. We do not buff or polish away years of patina that we feel enhances the impression of the piece. In order to make it easier for you to understand what is our impression from each item condition, we present this simple guide. Mint condition: Like new No signs of wear. Excellent estate condition: Items with minimal wear. Most likely these items have been worn very little. Very good estate condition: Items with light to normal wear that reflect the age of the item. Good estate condition: Items have been regularly worn and wear is visible. Fair estate condition: Wear is openly visible and the item may need some repairs. Usually we present items in fair condition only if the item is very rare, valueable and/or can be repaired. In excellent estate condition. Lucite Resin & Gold Plated.
