Art Deco Egyptian revival sphinx necklace with Green Bakelite & navy Galalith
A Very stylish Art Deco Egyptian revival necklace. Hand painted Double Sphinx design with a lovely large navy blue French Bakelite / Galalith pendant finished with vivid green phenolic Bakelite. Looks fabulous on , a real statement piece! (Egyptian revival was a popular theme in the 1920/30s jewellery due to the famous discovery of Tutankhamens tomb in 1922). Reworked from original, vintage Bakelite & galalith from my large collection, Each piece I make is handmade and unique. I will only make one or two items in zeach colour/design due to the rarity of vintage Bakelite. Size : necklace 17 (43 cms) long , pendant length 2 & 3/4 (7cms).
