Vintage Cream Graduated Cultured Pearl Double Strand Hand Knotted Necklace. This listing is for a beautiful set of double strand Art Deco. Cultured pearls with a beautifully decorated silver clasp. The pearls are a very good quality and have a good lustre, a round shape and a thick nacre which gives the rich white colour. Each pearl is hand knotted and the necklace has a silver clasp. The value of pearls is contingent on many factors and increases almost exponentially with quality. Factors that influence value of pearls are size, lustre, nacre and colour. These pearls are a very good quality as detailed below. Lustre : The pearls have a shiny lustre and a creamy white colour with pink overtones. Nacre : The nacre has a few natural variations but very smooth and thick. Colour : The Pearls have a creamy white colour. The colour is consistent throughout the necklace with very minor natural variations. The pearls are round in shape and consistent throughout the necklace. The clasp marked “935” which is a higher grade than sterling silver. The clasp is beautifully decorated with clear paste stones. Testing : The pearls are genuine cultured pearls and have been verified with a jewellers loop. The pearls have very minor small imperfections which is evidence they are natural. Measurements : The necklace measures 39cm in length. The pearls graduate in size from 8mm to 5mm. Weight : The necklace weighs 37g. Condition : The necklace is in excellent vintage condition. I cannot see any damage to the nacre of the pearls. They have a very deep lustre and have been well cared for.
