SPECIALIZING IN FINE ANTIQUE VINTAGE JEWELRY & COLLECTIBLES. These prices come from GIA recognized Gem Guide , THE wholesale price guide for dealers. These values do not dictate what a piece is worth. This is the price a piece would be worth if stripped down and melted to its bare materials. This beautiful piece comes from the Art Deco Era! The Art Deco Era is famous for being the “Gatsby” or “Roaring Twenties” Era. A lot of gorgeous and timeless designs in jewelry came out of this period. During the Art Deco Era jewelers would often make these gorgeous piece to order, which would take weeks to hand craft! The Old European cut was a cutting technique used in the early Victorian Period to the mid Art Deco Period and is one of the first cutting techniques known to man! This involved hand cleaving the gem stone or diamond into a round shape with rough facets and a high rise table. This cut is by far one of the rarer cuts out there due to a lot of these pieces being re cut to the modern round cut over the years. The chasing technique is a very difficult silversmith process when the artist uses a nail like tool and hammer to hand etch patterns within the metal work. This process was very difficult and only the best jewelers were trained in the process. Lavaliere’s are necklaces that included a chain or small link necklace, fairly long, that terminates in a single large pendant or tassel, which in turn often has additional pendants or tassels dangling from it; though named for a mistress of Louis XIV, the style is usually associated with turn-of-the-20th century jewelry, and remained popular into the 1930s. Precious coral is harvested almost exclusively in the Mediterranean off the coasts of Italy, France, Spain, Algeria, and Tunisia. Angel Coral has widely been valued as the rarest and most beautiful of all Coral types. During the Victorian Period only the richest of the rich could afford to have this form of coral harvested and imported into Europe and North America. The pendant and the rest of the necklace are not original to each other, the necklace was added to the pendant at a later date. The clasp of the necklace is base metal. The necklace itself includes beautiful hand carved bright pink un-dyed natural Angel Skin Coral. The Coral is hand strung on silk string in two separate strands throughout the necklace. The pendant includes beautiful hand cut. 03 Ct Old European Cut Diamonds throughout. The diamonds have a total carat weight of 1.10 Ct’s and are very eye clean and sparkly. The necklace includes classic Art Deco handmade craftsmanship throughout including beautiful hand chased designs throughout the bottom lavaliere pendant. If desired a jeweler could add the pendant to a different necklace. The necklace measures 18 in length. The pendant measures 1 and 3/4 wide by 1 and 1/4 tall. The necklace includes a secure push clasp as well. Antique and Vintage jewelry is disappearing at alarming rates. Unfortunately, most of the jewelry from this time period has been lost or melted down over the years, please don’t miss your chance to own this special piece of history!
