Antique Art Deco Flapper Egyptian Revival Snake Jade Bead Diamond Opera Necklace. Today we are pleased to offer for sale the most amazing Art Deco flapper necklace we have come across in a long time! This special piece is the exotic Egyptian Revival style, dating to the 1920’s during the Art Deco-influenced period. With the discovery of King Tut’s tomb there was a renewed interest in all things Egyptian. The piece also has an Asian influence due to the use of Jade-colored beads, creating a unique blend of cultural styles. We believe this piece is Czech made, as it features the beautiful glass beads for which they were well-known. The necklace features green jade-colored glass beads interspersed with filigree reticulated chain segments, ending in a green glass circle ring above two links to the pendant. The pendant is over the top wonderful! A filigree frame encircles a rectangular piece of jadite glass set with a small sparkling water-white diamond. Around the gem are three coiled mythological snakes on top of a filigree frame with undulating vines. Dangling from the bottom of the pendant are three green beaded chains ending in two tear drop-shaped an one round large green jade-color bead. The gilded metal appears to be brass. We have not cleaned or polished this piece, preserving its age earned patina. The pendant is unmarked but obviously the work of a fine jewelry maker. Necklace presents beautifully and is in very good antique, pre-owned condition, with very minimal wear and patina. There is minor tarnishing to gold-tone brass setting (you could polish it with Brasso if you wished but some like the patina so we leave it that way).
