Antique Art Deco 14K White Gold Camphor Glass & Diamond Pendant Necklace. Dates to the Art Deco era, circa 1920. Crafted in solid 14K white gold, and hallmarked as such upon the clasp. What appears to be a simple design reveals itself to be much more complex under the gaze of a keen eye – which is really just my way of saying that the frame on this piece is absolutely exquisite. The sunburst etched camphor glass plaque is inset with a 0.05 carat diamond. It is held in a wonderfully detailed frame, which has an openwork edge on the sides unlike any other I have ever seen. The pendant has a decorative bail, which attaches to a lovely and original fetter chain. The necklace measures just under 17″ from end to end, with a pendant portion that measures 1.86″ from bail to base, and 0.96 from side to side. This piece weighs 8.4 gram. Condition is very good. I noted a very tiny nick to the back of the camphor glass, just under a tab, which appears to have occurred during manufacture.
