Antique/vintage Bohemian (czech) Plue Paste / Gilded Necklace Art Deco
ANTIQUE/VINTAGE BOHEMIAN (CZECH) PLUE PASTE / GILDED NECKLACE – ART DECO. A truly beautiful filigree metal necklace, set with large blue paste stones and small white. “Neiger” quality but I don’t think he (Max Neiger) did so much filigree work to the back, and on this necklace it is superb. The metal has been gilded. The centre blue stone is open backed and slightly raised by the filigree work on the back to allow the light through. I cannot begin to describe the filigree work design but you will see it in the pictures. At its widest & tallest the centre blue stone measures 10mm by 8mm. The tiny white stones are typically Czech glinty, silvery sort which though small really do glint. At its tallest & widest the centre filigree plaque measures 24mm by 24mm. I can see very fine dark blue enamelling around the curly bits in the design below the stones – tiny bits missing. The complete necklace is 43.5 cms (17-1/8 inches) long. This necklace is beautiful and in very good condition except for the tiny bits of enamel mentioned – not at all noticeable. These are only accepted if the item is not as described.
