Presenting a stunning strand of graduated oval shaped faceted cherry amber bakelite beads, punctuated with smaller round facetted cherry amber beads between each of the oval shaped beads. This exquisite strand dates to circa 1920. These stunning beads have all the qualities that are highly prized in cherry amber bakelite necklaces. These impressive beads have a magnificent rich colour, and a brilliant. Translucency in various lighting conditions. Their stunning faceted surfaces beautifully accentuate the rich lustrous finish of the bakelite reflecting the intensity of the colour into radiant red prisms of light. These exceptional beads have a most striking resonance of colour with the light passing through. This lovely strand are a beautiful example of quality rich cherry amber bakelite, perfectly embodying all of the style and elegance of the art deco period. This superb strand measures approx 56cms in length excluding the clasp. This necklace is composed of 21 individual oval shaped beads, graduating smoothly in size. 22 small round beads separate the oval shaped beads. The large central focal bead measures approx 28.5mms in length and 22mms in width, a lovely large sized bead. The next two largest beads flanking the central bead are also of an impressive size measuring 22.7mms length x 18mms width. This necklace has a total weight of 48.8 grams. These exquisite 1920s beads test positive to bakelite. These magnificent beads are presented in excellent vintage condition, retaining a brilliant rich and lustrous finish. There are no chips or cracks to the beads. The beads are strung onto a double strand of bronze coloured cotton and are individually knotted into place. The cotton remains strong and secure with exceptionally minor fraying to the knots mentioned for complete accuracy. The c clasp is in good working order and closes securely. This fine necklace has been very well cared for and presents spectacularly!
