Why You’ll Love It. Eye-catching color that draws you in. The intricate detail of this Art Deco Czech necklace comes alive with vivid and radiant pink glass that sways freely, exuding a sense of liveliness and movement, and crafted with the iconic Flapper lady in mind. A unique array of shapes and sizes of glass beads have a delicate and softly tactile feel along your neckline, and the fun color is sure to turn heads. Bright patina with minimal surface wear to the setting. Fresh sheen, light surface wear, and no chipping on the glass. Art Deco is one of the first truly international styles, that influenced the design of buildings, furniture, fashion and of course, jewelry. The movement was given a name from the international exposition of Arts Decoratifs et Industriels Modernes, that was held in Paris in 1925 and largely dedicated to the jewelry arts. Born out of ideas of modernism and the Industrial Age, this manifested into designs that used Cubism’s bold abstraction and rectilinear shapes and combined them with intricate patterning, bold color and symmetry. High-end jewelry design houses like Cartier and Boucheron set the trends in gold and gemstones, which were then emulated by costume jewelry companies in glass or perhaps plastics, and brought to the masses. Czech or bohemian glass created from the end of the Victorian era through the mid-century was world-renowned for its unprecedented resemblance to natural gemstones. Skilled craftsman from the region engineered new methods of cutting and coloring glass to simulate the look of rubies, diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, and more. In addition, Czech glass jewelry makers were highly trained in the metalwork for the settings around the glass. The Czech region produced so many different styles (all of superb quality) that Czech glass pieces have become their own collectable category. _gsrx_vers_1608 GS 9.5 (1608).
