Vtg 1930s Art Deco Molded Flower Carnelian Glass Sterling Silver Necklace

While this style of necklace from the 1930s comes up from time to time, this necklace has some special details that makes this particular piece unique. The molded glass has a pretty floral design that is openworked (which makes the glass more delicate) and the glass cabs are quite thin, almost paper thin (making the glass even more delicate). The necklace has a cool and slinky feel due to its light weight and lays very flush when worn. Another nice feature, the setting is sterling, with a hidden matching clasp that allows the design to be seamless. Done in a rich red color made to simulate carnelian this Art Deco necklace is a special find. This piece is fresh looking and was well taken care of, the minimal amounts of wear are noticeable only on close inspection. The silver has a bright patina without any dents and a modest amount of surface wear. There is one cab that has a small chip which is noticeable only on close inspection. The glass has a glossy surface and a minor amount of surface scratching, the molded design is still distinct and fresh looking. There are no irregularities to the setting or signs of solder or repair and the piece has a firm shape. Width 1/2 a bit fuller. (if the piece is not marked it is tested for silver content).
