Updated metal components, original brass hook closure. Please be careful if you decided to clean this piece yourself, modern cleansers can harm vintage plastics, remove their surface finish, and discolor them! Feel free to message us! A Little About Celluloid Plastic: Celluloid is one of the earliest plastics that was widely used in jewelry making from the early 1900’s to 1960’s. It was incredibly popular during the Art Deco, Great Depression and WW2 periods. Celluloid was a great option for women who wanted to accessorize on a budget. It was also used in the production of dolls, hair ornaments, combs, hat pins, buckles, buttons, frames for pictures, toys, novelty charms, knife handles and much more! In the 1950’s, a lot of celluloid jewelry was manufactured in Japan. Celluloid pieces are highly collectible now! Please read each description carefully and observe all photos before purchasing.
