Vintage Art Deco Signed Platinon Sapphire Blue Open Back Crystal Czech Necklace

Welcome to Jewel Box :. A superb rare and lovely piece dating from the Edwardian or the Art Deco Era. Platinon was a metal created as a substitute for Platinum which was restricted at that time. It was untarnishable and for this reason this example is in wonderful condition. The necklace is decocrated with very fine triangual graduated panels towards the centre front and sides in Platinon. These are open and claw set with exquisite finely cut glass crystals in a lovely shade of pale Sapphire blue (the shade before stones are heat treated). Being open the light can flood through and show the stones off to their best advantage. Each of these panels is linked with a fine open elongated oval link whcih is decorated to the lower half with an art deco design. The jump rings are so incredibly fine as is the chain with fastens with a secure ring bolt clasp. The jump ring is marked PLATINON. The images show items close up (to disclose flaws) and this can make them look larger. The necklace is 17 inches long fantastic! And 8 mm deep. Sorry, my photography is too poor to show the wonderful jewel cuts of each of those panels. Any boxes, mannequins or fabrics are for display only.
