RARE Antique Vintage Art Deco Bohemian Czech Opalescent Fiery Opal Glass Foil Beads Double Strand Row Necklace. Circa 1920’s – 30’s. A Truly Beautiful Fiery Opalescent Foil Beads Necklace with Stunning Iridescence! The Necklace will come in a Gift Box and would make a GORGEOUS and UNIQUE GIFT! A Fabulous and Extremely Rare Antique Art Deco Bohemian Czech fiery opalescent glass foil beads necklace – a real Showstopper! The fire in these beads is amazing – the colours change and dance around with any movement, just like molten lava! The beads would have been made in Gablonz, in the old Kingdom of Bohemia. They are all hand-made and have an irregular texture created during the making process. The bronze spacer beads are made from poured glass and some of those also have an uneven texture. There is inevitably some surface wear here and there, with one or two old smooth chips, but nothing in my opinion which detracts in any way from the immense charm of this wonderful piece. The necklace is strung on the original thread and it still appears good and strong. Interestingly, one of the threads goes over the outside of a couple of the smaller spacer beads, but it isn’t a problem, only perhaps aesthetically. The necklace fastens with a bolt ring clasp. Thankfully, this isn’t the case with this one. The necklace looks particularly stunning when viewed under artificial light (please see last two photographs with flash).
