ART DECO STERLING SILVER Sapphire Paste Open Back Bezel Crystal Vintage NECKLACE

Welcome to Jewel Box :. A beautiful necklace fashioned in Sterling Silver and lovely vivid blue geometric cut glass crystals. The fine trace link chain is decorated at centre front with square bezel open settings which are claw set with the beautiful crystals. Each is table cut to the front with a pointy back. The open settings allow the light to flood through and make the most of the colour and the facets. Each is separated with a silver panel open worked with a North Star. At centre front another of these panels forms the dropper from which there is a square panel and crystal hung on the diagonal en tremblant. These were called Negligee necklaces with good reason :- they are extremely flattering. The necklace fastens with a secure ring bolt clasp. There are no markings which was quite normal at this time but it has been tested as being Sterling Silver. App 16 inches in length and 32 mm deep at centre front. The square panels are app 7 mm. The necklace came to me clean and i have needed to do nothing so it probably has never even been worn. How can this be? I have looked at the crystals under a loupe and possibly a couple of pin pricks acquired over 100 years or so in storage. The blue is universally flattering against any skin tone. A wonderful gift for a Bride or for a Lady you love (even yourself). Most pieces are also listed elsewhere so first come first served. Any boxes, mannequins or fabrics are for display only.
