Dark Red Cherry Amber Bakelite Graduated Oval Shaped Bead Necklace. This is a beautiful authentic Art Deco bakelite bead necklace. It comprises 50 graduated oval shaped beads. The beads have a deep dark red cherry amber color with no marbling. This necklace is strung on a cotton or silk thread and closes with a brass screw clasp. The thread is a little loose and it seems that one small bead has gone missing on the way. 67 cm (26 1/3) Dimension of the central largest bakelite bead: approx. 2.7 cm (1.06) x 2.3 cm (0.9) Dimension of the smallest bakelite beads: approx. 0.9 cm (0.35) x 0.7 (¼) Total weight: 58 grams Condition: the beads are in very good vintage condition with some light wear and fine scratches consistent with use and age. The cotton thread is a little lose, one small bead seems to be missing. This necklace would benefit from being restrung. A beautiful genuine bakelite bead necklace in a fabulous color!
