ART DECO CZECH BOHEMIAN Bi Colour Uranium Glass Bead Vintage NECKLACE Sterling

A superb necklace from the Kingdom of Bohemia, composed of graduated bi colour round cut glass crystal beads which are a lovely blue which is richly infused with a lime/eau de nil green. The largest bead is app 17 mm. The beads are interspersed with translucent clear wheel cut beads (there are two of these in one area but this is as it was strung as there is no space on the original string for any to be missing). Under UV light the beads glow a vivid green indicating the rich infusion of Uranium in the glass. Image 5 isnot under UV light just daylight with the beads on a black background! The rear of the necklace is strung with a mixture of pale green, pale aqua and what seem to be bi colour beads which are hand cut. These do not glow bright green under the UV light but indicate the presence of magnesium as they glow mauve (normal glass just dies under UV light). The necklace fastens with a secure old clasp stamped STERLING for sterling silver. An indication of the quality of the necklace. The necklace is app 19 inches long. There is verdigris to the end of the stringing on one side on the tiny spring. These in themselves are an indication of quality and they act as tiny shock absorbers when the necklace is in wear. The necklace does not appear to have been worn as the stringing is firm but after all this time it is very likely there are flea bites even if just from storage. Despite several attempts i cannot get clearer images without the flash. Definitely one for a very special gift or for a very special collection on its original string and unrestored. Any boxes, mannequins or fabrics are for display only. Everything is photographed in natural light with a flash. I do not enhance colours, no trick photography here! But there could be difference between browsers etc. We are human beings and on occasion will probably make a mistake but will do everything we can to resolve one if it happens.
