Main Stone Measurements/Color. Accent Stone Measurements/Color. Wearable length: 17.5″ to 19.5″ with extender chain. Bead width: 0.48″ to 1.31″. Pendant measurement : 2.46″ length, 1.53″ width. Handmade in the style of the Art Deco era. The style of the piece suggests it may have been created in Morocco. Features a fan-like, scallop motif pendant, adorned with hand-hammered designs. This pendant is a hollow, rare piece of puffy jewelry. Huge, geometric silver beads were strung on a wire, each created by hand. Completed with a lobster clasp for secure wear. When worn, the necklace rests under the collarbone against the décolletage on most people. Damage: Age appropriate wear. There are minor dents to several silver beads. Repoussé began as an ancient metalworking technique dating as far back as the 3rd century BC, involving malleable metal that was hammered onto the reverse side to create an image on the front. Examples are found all over the world; Greece, Egypt, and even the Hopewell periods in the American southeast. Reverse side hammering was also used to add detail to the front, creating intricate patterns using grooves, indentations, and channeling.
