Color: semi-translucent, untreated green hue with lighter and darker green inclusions. Accent Stone Measurements/Color. The stone(s) appear to be untreated, but we are not certified gemologists. Stone(s) have been tested and guaranteed using a professional Presidium Duo refractive, heat, and hardness tester. Stone Cuts : Carved and polished beads, carved and polished high relief koi fish carving. Wearable length: 33.88. Closure/Clasp Type: This necklace lacks a clasp and is worn over the head through the gap. Link Type: Jadeite jade beads on silk string. Handmade during the Art Deco era in China. Chinese export jewelry was highly desirable during the Art Deco era and affordable to only the most wealthy. The necklace features many lovely jadeite jade beads with green hues and lighter and darker green inclusions. The stones are all semi-translucent, allowing light to filter through their bodies and illuminate their hues; please reference the third photo provided above for a staged example of the stones’ semi-translucency. After being expertly carved, each jadeite jade bead was carefully drilled through the center and strung on a dyed green silk string, the jeweler taking care to double-knot the string between each bead to prevent loss in case of a break. When worn, the necklace rests beneath the bustline on most people, a stylish opera length. Damage: Age appropriate wear. One of the beads displays minor wear to its face; however, this does not affect wear and is difficult to see without the use of a jeweler’s loupe. The price has been reduced to reflect this. Jadeite is prized for its hardness and density and occurs in green, white, orange, yellow, lavender, red, gray, and black hues. The highest grade of jadeite is translucent and has an even color distribution.
