Art Deco Czech uranium glass scarab necklace Egyptian revival 1920’s Tested
Stunning molded uranium glass scarab necklace. This glass is white until it is placed under UV light. The unique character elements in this glass glow a bright green color. It is also called vaseline glass though it is not as opaque as other representations of this style of art. These designs became popular in the later 1920’s after the discovery of King Tut’s Tomb. The necklace features a large scarab pendant that has been strung through two points. The tip of the scarab has small Czech beads through the loops. There is a classic banded design to the beads on the string. They white beads are also uranium glass. This necklace is in good good vintage condition for its age. There are some signs of wear to the black paint on the scarab. IT HAS BEEN LEFT IN ORIGINAL CONDITION. This piece has stayed this way in order not mess with the paint on the pendant. It has been double strung with silk cord that is still very tight. The findings are gold filled with a spring ring clasp. Pendant measures 1 and 7/8ths of an inch tall and 1 and 1/4 inches wide.
