The dramatic jewel features a scarab with spectacular green blue and red enamel. It is sterling silver. And insect inspired jewels are all the rage today – look at the photos from the recent issue of Veranda I have included with the prices! The locket is in excellent period condition. There may be two tiny flecks off the enamel towards the top bale – these do not detract from the piece in any way in my opinion but I wanted to mention them. The pendant is 30mm tall including the bales (without the bales the scarab is 22m tall) and 17mm wide. It opens and closes securely. It weighs 5.1 grams. This is so immensely wearable either during the day or at the most glamorous affair.
