Huge Bakelite Vintage Art Deco necklace black 191 gr
A huge, gorgeous necklace made from retro plastic. Tested for bakelite by following tests. Simichrome – negative (common for black colored material). Hot water – no smell. Hot pin (tested carefully near bead hole) – strong formaldehyde smell. Sound – “bakelite clack”. No clasp, I’m not sure if this is an original condition of the necklace or the clasp got lost with the time. I prefer not to add a clasp in order to keep the item’s authenticity. One of the small beads (next to the clasp holders) has a damage that looks as a trace of burn (see on photos). Numerous minor scratches on some of the beads (can be seen in macro pictures). Length 82 cm (=32 1/4). Big oval beads size: 35 mm length, 25 mm diameter. Weight: 191 gr (=6,7 oz).
