SPECIALIZING IN FINE ANTIQUE VINTAGE JEWELRY & COLLECTIBLES. These prices come from GIA recognized Gem Guide , THE wholesale price guide for dealers. These values do not dictate what a piece is worth. This is the price a piece would be worth if stripped down and melted to its bare materials. This beautiful necklace comes from the Art Deco Era! The Art Deco Era is famous for being the “Gatsby” or “Roaring Twenties” Era. A lot of gorgeous and timeless designs in jewelry came out of this period. During the Art Deco Era jewelers would often craft these pieces to order, which would take weeks to make by hand! In the late 19th century, Carl Fabergé elevated this craft to new heights by marrying guilloché engraving with enameling. This successful integration of metal and glass appeared soon after Michael Perchin became head-goldmaster for Fabergé in 1886. Under his direction, guilloché engraving became increasingly complex. After firing, each piece was polished by hand using a wooden wheel covered with chamois leather. These techniques were difficult and time-consuming, but Fabergés craftsmen made them seem like childs play. The trend was soon adopted by other great jewelry houses of the time, including Bolin, Cartier. Chaumet, Boucheron and Tiffany & Co. Jeweled clocks, watch cases, cigarette cases, cigar cutters, picture frames, cane heads, parasol handles, hatpins, vanity cases, combs, mirrors, lorgnettes, pens, buckles and matching button sets are just a few of the tempting trinkets in guilloché enamel that proliferated from 1890 to 1920. The slider pendant has a slight hole in the top corner due to manufacture, allows hot air to escape when making it. The top of one of the tassels is missing the enamel, you have to look very closely to notice. The pieces includes gorgeous enamel work throughout on some of its gorgeous gold designs! The enamel work show cases a gorgeous solid blue base with lovely little dots of green & red! The enamel work is beautifully painted in lovely flower and bow designs that give the necklace an incredible style. The necklace includes classic Art Deco Era craftsmanship and is hand made out of beautiful 18k yellow gold. The gold design includes gorgeous rope twisted lengths of gold that are beautifully twisted around each other in an incredible pattern! There are also beautiful spheres of gold throughout the necklace that feature a lovely textured surface, and two incredible tassels at the end of the necklace! The necklace measures 28.5 long and is finished off with an easy to attach latch clasp that works perfectly. Antique and Vintage jewelry is disappearing at alarming rates. Unfortunately, most of the jewelry from this time period has been lost or melted down over the years, please don’t miss your chance to own this special piece of history!
